Brooklyn, NY

This charming painting depicts a winter snowball fight on the streets of Brooklyn around 1860.  Inscribed on the sign of the building: HUSTED & CAR../CARPET/WARE… For HUSTED & CARLL, carpet store located at 296 Fulton in Brooklyn, New York.

WHY WE LOVE IT: Some paintings take you back to your childhood.  I remember my Dad working so hard to shovel the driveway and getting annoyed with me when I threw snowballs at his head.
